We used to play a beautiful, hymn-like song, I think it was called Ballad for Peace.

Does anyone know who wrote it? Can a Winds member check the folder and tell me? I'm in Oregon, a bit too far to go to a rehearsal and take a peek.

And does anyone have a recording of it, or know where I can get a recording? It was such a pretty song. I remember my first day with the Winds, Mr. Ward said "Now that we have a French Horn, we can play this song!" Yeah, no pressure on the newbie! But the first time I played it, I absolutely fell in love with the horn's countermelody.

Ballad for Peace is by Frank Erickson.  I will see if we have a recording somewhere.  If not, we will record it this year.  We do plan to perform it at our Winter Concert in December.
